TOUR ITINERARY

Sept 10th: Arrive in Madrid and settle into your accommodation.  

Upon your arrival in Madrid, your private driver will greet you and whisk you away to your hotel.  After settling in, immerse yourself in the city's vibrant atmosphere by exploring iconic landmarks such as the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and Retiro Park. As the evening approaches, enjoy your first night in Madrid.

Sept 11: Madrid | Avila and Segovia | Madrid

After an early breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel for an all day excursion to two of Spain's oldest cities.  Avila and Segovia are renowned as Spain's "Heritage of Mankind" cities, boasting rich histories and centuries-old monuments. Avila is synonymous with its iconic city walls, among the best-preserved and most complete in Europe, offering a striking sight visible from afar. Meanwhile, Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage City, beckons with its unique attractions that warrant a visit in themselves. Explore the old Jewish quarter, admire grand mansions, soak in outstanding views, and meander through the lush green belt—a perfect setting for a leisurely stroll in the sunshine. This comprehensive route ensures you experience the best of both cities in a single day, promising an enriching and memorable adventure. Late afternoon drive back to Madrid and evening free to enjoy Madrid’s lively nightlife.

Sept 12: Madrid / Ciuda Real

After an early breakfast, we’ll leave Madrid towards Ciudad Real the Capital of Classic Spanish Theater.  On the way there will be a delightful stopover in Toledo for an immersive tour of the "City of the Three Cultures." Explore the UNESCO-listed historic city center, marveling at iconic landmarks such as the Toledo Cathedral, Alcázar of Toledo, and Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca.  Indulge in a leisurely lunch at one of Toledo's charming restaurants, savoring the local flavors.  Upon arriving at Ciudad Real, check in at the Parador de Almagro, nestled in an exceptional historical-artistic setting—the ancient Convent of Santa Catalina, dating back to the 17th century and serving as the city's first Franciscan convent. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage and cultural ambiance of Almagro as you unwind and prepare for an enchanting evening.

Located in an exceptional historical and artistic setting, the Parador de Almagro occupies the former Convent of Santa Catalina, dating back to the 17th century and was the first Franciscan convent in the city.

Sept 13: Ciudad Real / Cordoba

After an early breakfast, we’ll leave Ciudad Real on our way to Cordoba and your accommodations at Parador de Córdoba, ideally located within walking distance of the iconic Mezquite-Catedral.  Perched on a hillside overlooking the city of Córdoba, the Parador stands atop the ruins of the summer palace of Abd al-Rahman I, founder of the Umayyad dynasty that once ruled Al-Andalus (Andalucia) for nearly three centuries.  This afternoon we’ll embark on a Cordoba Highlights panoramic tour of the city.  Discover its most significant landmarks, including the Synagogue and the UNESCO-listed Mezquita-Cathedral originally built during the Arab occupation and later transformed into a Catholic Church, each bearing witness to the city's diverse history. We’ll immerse ourselves in the rich history of Cordoba as we explore its historic center, including the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. Delight in the fusion of cultures and architectural wonders that define this captivating city, before retiring to the comfort of Parador de Córdoba for sumptuous meal and a restful evening.

Parador de Córdoba

It is an elegant building with the oldest palm trees in Europe in its garden. It features a beautiful seasonal pool, children's play area, paddle tennis court, tennis court, electric car charging point, and convention center. Sept 14 :  Cordoba

After indulging in a leisurely breakfast we’ll embark on a delightful all day Tour exploring the local wine bodegas of the Montilla-Moriles region near Cordoba, renowned for their fortified wines such as fino and amontillado. We’ll have guided tours of the bodegas to discover the intricate production methods behind these esteemed wines and savor tastings of the region's finest offerings.

Sept 15 :  Cordoba

After indulging in a leisurely breakfast we’ll continue to explore the local wine bodegas of the Montilla-Moriles region as well as visiting some of the charming villages of the area.

Sept 16: Cordoba / Jaen

After breakfast we’ll leave Cordoba on our journey to Jaen, renowned capital of olive oil production. Your accommodation awaits at the Parador de Jaen, situated atop the hill of Santa Catalina alongside its namesake castle. From this vantage point, guests are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Sierra Morena and Sierra Mágina mountain ranges. As a gateway to exploring the captivating charm of Andalusian Renaissance, the Parador de Jaén captivates with its grand facade of imposing stone walls and its magnificent interior vault. Embodying the essence of Spanish flavor and gastronomic culture, our establishment promises an unforgettable culinary experience.  We’ll embark on an Olive Oil Tour to delve into the rich heritage of olive oil production in the region, allowing you to immerse yourself in the sensory journey of Spanish cuisine. Parador de Jaén Located atop the hill of Santa Catalina, next to the castle of the same name, the Parador de Jaén crowns the city, providing visitors with a spectacular panoramic view of the Sierra Morena and Sierra Mágina mountains.

As both a starting point and a destination to discover the charm of Andalusian Renaissance, the Parador de Jaén impresses with its facade of immense stone walls and its stunning interior vault. Inside, you'll find a traditional style that combines sober defensive architecture with regional craftsmanship, transporting you to another era.

 

Sept 17: Jaen

After an early breakfast, we’ll travel to explore the mesmerizing city of Granada, starting with a captivating Alhambra tour. Immerse yourself in the rich history and architectural wonders of this iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, indulge in a delightful wine tour, venturing to the nearby wineries nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Experience tastings of high-altitude wines, savoring their unique flavors and characteristics.  We’ll finish the day enjoying an authentic Flamenco presentation in the Gypsy caves of Sacromonte then return to Jaen, where a delicious dinner will be waiting for us.

Sept 18: Jaen / Malaga

After breakfast, depart from Jaen and journey towards the seaside resort city of Malaga. Enjoy a free day exploring the vibrant streets of the city, indulging in shopping for souvenirs, and relishing delicious Andalusian cuisine at local restaurants.

Parador de Málaga Golf

If you're a golf and sea lover, this is your ideal Parador. You can access the golf course directly from your room, and the views of the Mediterranean are spectacular. Just a step away, you have a long white sandy beach, and at the Parador, you can relax in its pool, play a game of tennis, or take advantage of its spacious lounges for events and business meetings.

The Parador is located just ten kilometers from the tourist attractions of Malaga, close to typical summer destinations such as Torremolinos, Mijas, Puerto Banús, and Marbella. It's a perfect place to enjoy sports, sun, beach, and the nightlife in the coastal towns. Come, relax, and enjoy!

 

 

Sept 19 :  Malaga / Ronda / Malaga

After breakfast, depart Malaga on a journey towards Ronda, the birthplace of bullfighting. Explore the breathtaking landscape and historic sites of Ronda, including the iconic Puente Nuevo bridge spanning the deep El Tajo gorge, the Moorish baths, and the renowned bullring, one of the oldest and most famous in Spain. Indulge in a delicious local restaurant, savoring authentic Andalusian cuisine while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding countryside. In the afternoon, return to Malaga, reflecting on the day's memorable experiences.

Sept 20: Malaga / Sevilla

After breakfast, depart Malaga and journey towards Sevilla, where we’ll check into the Parador de Sevilla, housed in a former Moorish palace. Explore Sevilla's historic center, including the iconic Giralda Tower, Sevilla Cathedral, and Plaza Seville. Sevilla is renowned for its Gothic cathedrals, Moorish palaces, and expansive plazas. Enjoy a free day exploring the city's vibrant streets, indulging in shopping for souvenirs, and savoring delicious Andalusian cuisine at local restaurants.

Parador de Carmona

The Parador de Carmona occupies the Mudejar palace of Pedro I of Castile, built upon the ancient Muslim fortress. Disappeared in the 19th century due to successive earthquakes and looting, this site was reborn in 1976 as a Parador in the form of a renovated Andalusian palace.

Originally an ancient Turdetano-Punic acropolis, the enclave housed the residence of the Taifa king of Carmona, rebuilt by Pedro I, promoter of the Alcazar of Seville, who made it his favorite residence. Today, the former Parade Ground hosts the parking lot, and the Royal House accommodates the lounges and bedrooms of the Parador.

 

Sept 21: Sevilla

After breakfast, we’ll head towards Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera.  Cádiz is an ancient port city home of the Spanish Navy. The port boomed in the 16th-century as a base for exploration and trade and has more than 100 watchtowers, including the iconic Torre Tavira, which was traditionally used for spotting ships. On the waterfront is the domed, 18th-century Cádiz Cathedral, featuring baroque and neoclassical elements. Jerez de la Frontera is home to the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, a famed riding school where we’ll be able to enjoy the horse shows and sample the sherry (Jerez) that the region is famous for at the world renowned Tio Pepe bodega.  Late afternoon drive back to Sevilla reflecting on the day's memorable experiences.

Sept 22: Sevilla 

Savor a delightful breakfast to begin your last day in Sevilla, a city steeped in history with three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Revisit the stunning architecture of the Alcazar palace complex and the awe-inspiring beauty of the Cathedral, the final resting place of Christopher Columbus. Conclude your day with a delicious dinner at your Parador, indulging in the culinary delights of the region.

Sept 23: Sevilla / Madrid

End of tour.  After breakfast, leave Sevilla for Madrid and your return flight home. You can select to return to Madrid via a 2 hour 45 minute train ride at an approx cost of $45 per person or take a 1 hour flight back at an approx. cost of $62.00 per person.  You can also inquire about a post tour stay in Madrid.
